Meet Airfox​

The name Aviator never fully belonged to us. Between clothing brands, airlines, apps, sunglasses, even existing games, the word is everywhere. For three years, we built something genuinely distinct under a name that wasn't.

Airfox is ours. 🦊

It's cleaner. It's unique. And the fox has been our mascot from the very beginning. We believe a new identity gives us the strongest opportunity to prosper when the market is stronger. The new name will be stronger for SEO, brand identity, and codifying our mascot into the token identity.

Airfox is all of us. ✈️

A new name also means a new surface. New domain, new socials, and more are all rolling out this week. While we're changing our name, our aesthetic, our vision, and our style remain exactly the same.

Leaving Base​

We were early Base builders. We built the first universal bridge on Base. We headlined the first ever Base Game Night. We believed in the ecosystem and brought our community along with us. For a while, that felt like the right bet.

Unfortunately, Base didn't hold up its end. The promises made to builders were largely ignored, and we're not alone in that experience. A quick search on Twitter/X tells the story well enough, so we won't rehash it here. What we will say is that we were affected by that neglect, and we stayed longer than we should have, hoping things would change.

They didn't. So we chose a different runway.

Airfox Arcade is coming to Robinhood Chain, and SkyBridge V2 is launching support for Robinhood Chain tomorrow. We're genuinely excited about what this ecosystem represents for builders at our stage, and we'll have much more to share in the weeks ahead.

We are moving our Base liquidity pool to Robinhood Chain to support Airfox Arcade.

AFX can be bridged across all SkyBridge-supported chains for no protocol fee. A network and CCIP fee applies.

On to greener pastures.

Migration Changes​

Three years of building without outside funding means three years of making difficult decisions with limited resources. Some of those decisions simply didn't work out the way we hoped.

Our centralized exchange listings didn't bring meaningful user growth. Marketing spend during a bear market disappeared far faster than it compounded. Looking back, that capital would have been better preserved closer to home. We're not telling you this to relitigate the past. We're telling you because you deserve honesty from a team that has always tried to earn your trust. Wen CEX? Wen Marketing? When it makes sense.

Reducing the AFX liquidity pool was the hardest decision we've ever made. We didn't want to do it. We sat with the decision for a long time. We'd rather have a thinner pool and continue shipping than maintain a larger pool while running out of runway. Insolvency doesn't help anyone: not us, and certainly not you.

We wanted to keep building.

But we're not asking you to simply accept a smaller pool, we're asking you to help us build a bigger one.

We're explicitly inviting community members to provide AFX liquidity. Stratus, our upcoming multichain asset management app, will reward LP positions with boosted AFX staking rewards, offering a larger share than standard staking by design. The goal is a liquidity pool built by more than just us. One that doesn't depend on a single team to maintain it, and one that rewards the people who help strengthen it.

We're hyped!

Stratus Staking and Liquidity-Lock Pools​

When a project launches on Stratus, it can lock its liquidity in a custom, non-custodial pool that also shares the trading fees automatically, without anyone, including us, having access to the funds.

Why Combine Liquidity Locks and Staking?​

Rather than integrating an existing liquidity locker, we built our own locking protocol specifically for Stratus. Existing solutions are designed primarily to escrow LP positions until a lock expires. They generally don't provide a native way to route trading fees into staking rewards while preserving immutable, non-custodial guarantees. And, they can be expensive, charging steep native token fees and/or collecting a stake of the creator's total liquidity as a fee.

We wanted to make something better-fit for the Stratus lifecycle. As trading activity grows, locked liquidity continues earning trading fees, and those fees can be directed toward staking rewards according to immutable rules established at launch. The result is a self-reinforcing feedback loop: projects launch, liquidity trades, fees accumulate, long-term participants are rewarded, and communities become more resilient without relying solely on treasury-funded emissions.

For creators, this means a single onchain system can establish liquidity credibility, reward long-term holders, and reduce dependence on ongoing treasury-funded incentive programs. 🎉

The Stratus launch model is built around this positive feedback loop.

Non-Custodial by Design​

Once a pool is created, it is immutable and ownerless. There is no admin key, no upgrade path, and no platform authority over it once it exists. It has no ability to modify pools that have already been deployed. The principle we built around is simple: immutability lives where the funds live. Your liquidity is a set of rules, not a middleman.

Two Ways a Pool Comes to Life​

• Launch-integrated. When a creator launches a project on Stratus, it can atomically lock that LP position into a Stratus pool within the same transaction. The position remains locked for the chosen duration while continuing to earn trading fees. Token fees can then be distributed according to the pool's immutable configuration: whether to stakers, the project treasury, a burn, or another destination selected when the pool is created. ETH fees are awarded to the project's creator wallet, minus a platform fee.
• Satellite. Any existing token can create a standalone rewards pool at any time, funded by sponsors rather than trading fees. This is useful for projects that want to bootstrap incentives before trading volume arrives, or who want to offer staking programs without building their own bespoke solutions.

Every trade against the locked liquidity generates trading fees. Anyone can call the pool's collect-and-distribute function to split those fees according to the pool's immutable configuration.

Worth underlining: Stratus only collects fees in ETH. A project's own token is never taken by the platform. This allows Stratus to maintain credible neutrality on project launches.

Lock Longer, Keep More​

The platform's ETH-side fee follows a simple step schedule based on how long liquidity is locked:

The schedule is calculated by lock duration rather than a fixed menu of options. Once a rate is established for a lock segment, it remains unchanged for that segment.

Extending a lock later does not retroactively improve the fee rate on time already committed. Instead, the extension begins a new segment that qualifies for the better tier once the current one ends. Locking beyond twelve months provides no additional discount beyond guaranteeing the lowest platform fee.

How Staking Works​

Users can stake either the project's native token or the LP position itself if they provided liquidity. Rewards are always paid in that project's own token, making every pool self-contained without cross-token dependencies.

Two mechanics help keep the system fair. First, an unstake cooldown: a creator-defined delay (fifteen minutes at minimum) between requesting an unstake and withdrawing. Second, a reward drip: newly collected fees stream out over a configurable period instead of being distributed immediately.

Together these mechanisms prevent "flash staking," where someone attempts to stake immediately before a distribution to capture rewards. LP positions are also weighted by their real in-range value, so stale or out-of-range positions naturally stop earning. We validated these edge cases through adversarial testing on testnet.

Satellite Sponsorship is Open to Everyone​

Trading fees are not the only reward source. Anyone can contribute directly to a pool's reward balance, allowing projects or communities to fund incentives even before meaningful trading volume exists.

AFX Staking​

Stratus will support staking rewards for AFX, sponsored by us. Trading activity generates fees, fees flow into staking rewards, and long-term participants benefit from real network usage rather than newly issued tokens.

Here's the concrete part for AFX holders: since launch, AFX's own liquidity has accrued roughly 90 million AFX in trading fees, representing about 0.9% of total supply. That accrued balance seeds AFX's staking pool and is configured to stream to stakers over a twelve-month period through the exact same permissionless mechanism every other pool uses.

No new AFX is created, and no treasury-held AFX is being distributed. These rewards come exclusively from trading fees that have already accrued.

The figures above are current as of writing and are subject to change. Trading fees continue to accrue, and final distribution parameters may be adjusted before mainnet.

At its own discretion, Airfox funds ecosystem grants, hackathons and game jams, competition prizes, exchange listings, and other ecosystem initiatives by buying AFX on the open market. These are ordinary operating expenditures paid to builders, winners, and partners.

Foxtails, Too​

Staking and providing liquidity are among the many activities that earn Foxtails, our ecosystem-wide loyalty points. As always, Foxtails are not a token, they live offchain, and we'll share more about how these systems fit together as we move toward mainnet.

SkyBridge Updates​

We're proud to announce that SkyBridge is coming to Robinhood Chain immediately! We are excited to support the network, and believe it will be a great spot for builders of all backgrounds to get support and create great apps.

Where it Stands Today​

Live and verified across four Uniswap v4 public testnets: Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and Unichain.

The Stratus staking dashboard is already built and reading live onchain state. Mainnet is next, and we'll share deployment updates as rollout approaches. This is the foundation for every project that launches on Stratus. We're looking forward to seeing what builders create with it.

One stop shop​

Stratus is becoming the one stop shop for multichain asset management. The work that used to mean ten tabs, five tools, and a lot of guesswork, we’re folding it into one single, clean place that just works. One window, one app, one device, and just one token.

Pools deploy from a factory into immutable, self-running contracts: the rules are set once, and no one, ourselves included, can reach in afterward. One token, one focus​

It is no secret that market conditions and sentiment in crypto are deeply negative. Ethereum sits almost 70% below its August highs, and the funding that once poured into crypto has thinned to a trickle. VC firms have pulled back sharply, hiring has dried up, and global interest rate policy is uncertain. The pressure is on, but that pressure has been clarifying.

We're still here. 🦊

Simply put, we won't wait for the market to turn. We’re building through it, the way the projects that last always do.

Stratus will launch without a separate token and run on the ecosystem we already have deployed**.** A second token economy is exactly the kind of overhead a market like this punishes, and we’d rather pour that energy into the product, without splitting the community. We believe it's better to build for the community first.

We aren't ruling out seeking future funding when the market is hungrier. If another token is to exist, it will be because it's been earned through adoption and user demand, not scraped together in a down market and botching a flagship launch.

One format to rule them all​

We're excited to announce the next step for SkyBridge is already in testnet. 🎉

Meet SKY-20 and SKY-721: a new multichain-native token format for tokens and NFTs that are crosschain from birth. Built directly on SkyBridge's rails, they do what ordinary bridged tokens can't, like moving as one canonical asset instead of a wrapped copy on every chain. The contracts are open and permissionless, so anyone can deploy, build on, or integrate them, with attachable modules for omnichain taxes and royalties, parallel pool creation, built-in fee direction, and more.

Bigger than one app​

Here’s the part we’re most excited about: Stratus is the first app built on SkyBridge, but it won't be the last. The same infrastructure is open for anyone to build on, and it's the kind of thing other teams have started to take an interest in. The rails we built for ourselves are becoming a foundation the whole ecosystem can use. Non-Custodial Architecture​

The platform does not custody user funds and cannot take back what is yours. Users retain control of their assets at all times. Transactions settle directly on Ethereum and supported Layer 2 networks through smart contracts, reducing intermediary risk and eliminating custodial exposure.

Operational Safeguards​

Smart contract roles are clearly defined and limited through role-based permissions. Administrative functions are protected by multisignature controls. Upgrade paths are structured to reduce unilateral authority and improve operational resilience.

Airfox is designed with awareness of evolving digital asset regulatory frameworks, including applicable considerations under GENIUS, MiCA, DORA, FinCEN guidance, as well as the upcoming CLARITY Act. Airfox Token​

Airfox's AFX token is the native utility token of Airfox Arcade. It is permissionless, with no administrative control.

AFX has a fixed total supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens, deployed natively on Ethereum, with no mint function: supply cannot be inflated by Airfox or any other party.

Core Utilities​

• Governance Participation: AFX holders can propose and vote on ecosystem decisions, including platform features, event structures, and platform rules.
• Staking Rewards: AFX can be staked to support the platform. Stakers earn rewards and multipliers for contributing to the integrity and activity of the platform.
• Arcade Usage: AFX functions as the native asset within Airfox Arcade for leaderboards, competitions, and tournaments. It is used to settle prizes, rewards, and event participation.
• Network Fees: AFX is used to pay protocol fees, maintaining alignment of incentives and supporting the ongoing operation of the network. AFX enjoys fee-exempt status on SkyBridge network transfers fleet-wide, reducing friction for holders who bridge or move AFX across supported chains.
• Multichain Availability: AFX is natively bridgeable across every SkyBridge-supported network via SkyBridge's canonical bridging rails. A wrapped representation, sAFX, mirrors AFX 1:1 on every destination chain, preserving full utility and governance weight regardless of which chain a holder transacts on.

Airfox Arcade™ reimagines the classic arcade experience for Web3. It's a decentralized gaming platform where developers publish games for free, forever, and both developers and players earn AFX tokens through play. Airfox Arcade embraces a "play and earn" philosophy: entertainment comes first, and the better and more engaging a game is, the more players it attracts, driving higher rewards for everyone involved.

Just as a traditional arcade hosts titles from many different creators competing for player attention, Airfox Arcade lets developers publish, monetize, and scale without hosting fees, KYC, or gatekeepers, while players enjoy games, collect digital ownership, and build a lasting identity within the ecosystem.

These titles are ad-supported, providing developers with revenue while lowering barriers to entry for new players. Free Games distribute digital collectibles, site badges, and Foxtails (site loyalty points), introducing players to Airfox Arcade and onboarding them into the ecosystem. This category serves as the primary driver for user acquisition and retention.

Competition Games​

Competition Games are structured, skill-based microgames that feature daily and weekly leaderboards. Developers can schedule prize distributions for any day, creating flexible incentive structures. These games can also feature digital collectibles, site badges, and Foxtails rewards.

Players engage using "Credits" (AFX) or "Cash" (USDC), with a small fee applied to both. Payouts are always issued in Credits, which can be redeemed for Cash for a convenience fee, or withdrawn to the open market as AFX tokens. This dual system allows Web2 users to interact with blockchain-native rewards without requiring prior crypto experience, while ensuring positive alignment between AFX and USDC.

Premium Games / Content Marketplace​

The Premium category functions as a marketplace for permanent games, mods, and other miscellaneous digital content. Users can purchase content using cards or crypto, with payments automatically settled to developer accounts as USDC. Developers can withdraw earnings to traditional bank accounts, PayPal, or external wallets via integrated financial widgets.

Premium Games attract indie developers and small studios seeking an onchain distribution and monetization solution while preserving a familiar purchasing experience. Purchased content can be downloaded directly or accessed via license keys as determined by the creator.

Creative Marketplace​

The Airfox Marketplace supports permanent digital content and creative works, such as digital artwork, manga, doujin, animations, video, and more. While originally designed for Premium Games, the Marketplace is being rethought to support a wider range of content:

• Earned directly through gameplay and platform interaction.
• Fully user-generated: developers can design game-specific Achievements, which players earn by completing challenges.
• Optional minting: players can mint Achievements as NFTs to trade or showcase outside their profile.
• Foxtails integration: each Achievement carries a Foxtails value. Minting the NFT freezes these points, and trading transfers them with the NFT.

Site Badges​

• Awarded directly by Airfox for platform-wide milestones, participation, or contributions.
• Optional minting: like Achievements, Site Badges can be minted as NFTs, traded, and burned to reapply to a profile.

Foxtails Mechanics in Achievements and Badges​

• When a collectible is minted, its Foxtails points are temporarily frozen.
• When the collectible is burned and applied back to a profile, Foxtails points are unlocked and spendable.
• Trading collectibles moves them between wallets, carrying the frozen Foxtails points until they are burned and applied to a profile again.
• Reminting a burned collectible resets its Foxtails points to zero, preventing double-counting and maintaining a consistent point economy.

Engines & Dev Onboarding​

Airfox Arcade provides tools and infrastructure for developers to integrate their games with the platform. Currently, integration is primarily focused on Competition Games, ensuring seamless participation in leaderboards, Foxtails rewards, and achievement tracking.

Engine Support​

Airfox Arcade currently offers plugin packages for Unity, with planned future support for Unreal, Godot, and more. This enables developers to submit player scores to leaderboards, track and distribute Achievement unlocks, integrate tokenized or non-tokenized rewards, and earn passive Credits for plays by users in Competition Games.

Free Games support even more engines, providing simplified integration for onboarding new players. Marketplace content can be delivered in any format since these titles are purchased and downloaded directly by players.

Leaderboards​

Leaderboards are a core engagement and reward mechanism within Airfox Arcade, providing persistent metrics of player performance across all games. All games feature daily, weekly, and all-time leaderboards, allowing players to track progress and compete at multiple time scales. Competition Games specifically prioritize the weekly leaderboard, which drives prize distribution and incentivizes recurring play.

Developers configure a game's epoch, defining the weekly leaderboard reset and prize distribution schedule. For example, a developer can set the leaderboard to reset every Tuesday at 00:00 UTC, automatically awarding top performers. By staggering epochs across different games, every single day of the week sees prize distributions. Epoch configuration ensures predictable, automated reward flows and allows developers to coordinate competitions and events efficiently.

Prizes are delivered in Credits (AFX) to the top-ranking players. Foxtails are also awarded based on leaderboard performance for further user retention. Additionally, all leaderboard scores can be shared to timelines or other social platforms, promoting cross-platform visibility and user-driven marketing.

User-Created Content​

Airfox Arcade provides a rich social layer that integrates user content and interaction directly into the platform, creating persistent, player-driven profiles and spaces.

Advanced Profile Customization​

• Profile Header: Display Foxtails balance, upload a PFP, link an NFT, or use the Arcade Avatar Maker. Avatars are composed of unlockable parts that players earn or trade. Headers support custom colors, banners, and backgrounds.
• Themes & Colors: Players can select from preset theme colors or create custom palettes for a fully personalized profile experience.
• Custom Pages ("My Homepage"): Users can create sandbox-style HTML pages with CSS to showcase featured links, bios, embeds, pinned content, and more. These pages are persistent and sharable, functioning as full-profile expansions for users to build out their creative or consumer presences.

Site Avatar Maker​

The Site Avatar Maker allows users to create, customize, and monetize their own avatars and accessories within Airfox Arcade. It integrates directly with the platform's collectibles, Foxtails, and marketplace systems.

Customization Features​

Build avatars using unlockable parts, colors, banners, and backgrounds. Many parts are tied to Achievements, Site Badges, or Foxtails rewards. Users can create different avatar bases, including humans, animals, or puppets, offering a wide range of personalization options. Users can bring in external NFT avatars they own. Imported NFTs currently cannot be altered but some may be supported for future customization.

Marketplace Integration​

Accessories and avatar parts created by users can be minted as NFTs and sold on the Airfox Arcade Marketplace for Credits. Buyers can purchase directly with Credits (AFX) or Cash (USDC) using Web2-friendly payment options. Purchased parts are added to the buyer's inventory and can be applied to their avatar or traded, creating a persistent, user-driven economy.

Economic & Engagement Impacts​

• Encourages creativity and microeconomy development, giving players and creators a way to monetize content.
• Integrates Foxtails: certain avatar parts can carry Foxtails points, either for social display or as redeemable value within platform activities.
• Drives cross-engagement: users who create, trade, or collect avatar parts are more likely to participate in games, leaderboards, and events.

Content & Social Feed​

• Badges and Achievements: Display earned or favorite Badges, with Foxtails points attached, along with achievements from games or platform engagement.
• Activity Feed: Posts, streams, inventory updates, recently played games, and user-created games are surfaced in a timeline for friends.
• Reviews & Social Links: Users can link external social media, post reviews, and share content directly within the Arcade ecosystem.
• Chat: Private, encrypted messaging between users.

Adult Content Policy​

Airfox Arcade allows user-generated content marked as 18+, supporting creative freedom for adult audiences. All content must comply with strict child protection policies as required by law.

Airfox Prize Wall​

The Airfox Arcade Prize Wall, like at a real arcade, is where users can redeem Credits and/or Foxtails for cool prizes. Digital prizes, such as cosmetics, badges, themes, downloadable content, and more, give players fun and visible ways to use what they earn.

Just like walking up to a prize counter after racking up tickets, the Prize Wall turns digital gameplay into tangible rewards. Players can unlock profile customizations, exclusive visual effects, collectible badges that mark achievements, and limited-edition content tied to special events or seasonal drops. Some rewards focus on self-expression, while others highlight milestones, status, or participation in unique challenges.

The Prize Wall keeps the Arcade experience rewarding beyond the game itself, giving users clear goals to work toward and a constant stream of new items to collect, show off, and enjoy.

Community Events​

Airfox Arcade hosts a variety of events designed to engage players, reward participation, and strengthen ecosystem retention. Events leverage Foxtails, Credits, leaderboards, and social features to create recurring engagement loops.

• Tournaments & Competitions: Scheduled events where players compete in games or microgames for Credits, Foxtails, and collectible prizes. Developers can configure event rules, durations, and prize distributions.
• Seasonal & Thematic Events: Time-limited events tied to holidays, releases, or community milestones, featuring exclusive rewards and collectibles.
• Quests & Challenges: Platform-wide challenges that reward players for completing specified actions across games, social interactions, or content creation.

Mechanics & Incentives​

• Automated Prize Distribution: All events integrate with the Arcade economy, distributing Credits, Foxtails, and collectibles according to predefined rules.
• Recurring Engagement: Events are structured to ensure daily, weekly, and seasonal activity, keeping players returning to the platform.
• Social Integration: Events tie into profiles, timelines, leaderboards, and achievements, allowing players to showcase participation and accomplishments.

SkyBridge​

Airfox SkyBridge is the core onboarding and cross-chain bridge that brings existing crypto users into the Arcade ecosystem. It moves standard ERC-20 tokens, ERC-721 NFTs, and native ETH across a live, twelve-chain network: Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum One, Polygon, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Unichain, Soneium, Ink, MegaETH, and Robinhood Chain, directly into the networks where Airfox Arcade operates.

SkyBridge isn't a single bridge protocol wearing one hat, it's a routing layer over multiple purpose-built rails, and it automatically selects the most native, lowest-cost path available for a given asset and chain pair:

• Native OP Stack integration: SkyBridge can route through each chain's own official Layer 1 standard bridge rather than a third-party messaging protocol, the same canonical infrastructure the rollup itself publishes, giving users the chain's native security guarantees and lowest possible cost.
• Native ARB Stack support: On Arbitrum One and Robinhood Chain, SkyBridge deposits and withdraws canonical ETH directly through each rollup's own bridge contracts, so users move real ETH rather than a synthetic one.
• Circle CCTP for USDC: On supported chains, USDC moves via Circle's native burn-and-mint rails, preserving USDC's official, fully-backed status on every destination.
• Chainlink CCIP for everything else: Any other ERC-20 or ERC-721, including assets with no official presence on a given chain, routes through Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, SkyBridge's general-purpose fallback rail.

This multi-rail design is built to grow: new chains and new native bridging rails can be added to the router over time as ecosystems mature and new official infrastructure comes online, without re-architecting how existing assets move.

A permissionless entry point to go multichain. Perhaps SkyBridge's most powerful capability: any existing token, one that has never integrated with Airfox, coordinated with our team, or deployed anything on our chains, can be bridged the moment a single holder sends it. If a token has no canonical presence on the destination chain, SkyBridge's protocol automatically deploys a 1:1-backed representation, a SkyToken, redeemable back to the original at any time. No developer coordination, no permission, no waiting on a listing process. SkyBridge turns any single-chain token into a multichain asset the instant someone wants to move it.

SkyBridge's onchain logic is governed by a role-gated multisignature structure, with day-to-day administrative control held by dedicated Gnosis Safes requiring multiple independent signers to approve any change: no single party can unilaterally alter fees, upgrade contracts, or move funds.

Stratus​

Stratus is Airfox's multichain token and NFT launchpad, currently in active development. Built natively on top of SkyBridge's cross-chain rails, Stratus is designed to give creators and communities a single flow to launch a token or NFT collection that is natively live on every SkyBridge-supported chain from day one, with no manual bridging or per-chain redeployment required. Stratus is live today across Airfox's testnet environments, with mainnet launch planned for a future release.

Token & NFT Creator​

Creators can deploy a standard ERC-20 token (SKY20) or NFT collection (SKY721) in a single transaction, then expand it to additional chains on demand. Tokens can launch as Clean (no transaction tax) or Taxed (a configurable buy/sell tax routed to a project treasury, capped to prevent abuse), giving projects flexibility in how they fund ongoing development.

Bonding Curves​

For projects that want built-in price discovery before committing to a liquidity pool, Stratus offers an optional bonding curve: a transparent, automated pricing mechanism that lets a token find its market price through early trading activity before it graduates to a full decentralized exchange pool.

Liquidity Pools and Locking​

Stratus pools are built on Uniswap V4 and are self-serve and non-custodial: the pool contract itself locks and owns the liquidity position, so neither Airfox nor the project creator can withdraw it prematurely. Trading fees are split automatically between the project and the platform on a schedule that rewards longer lock commitments.

Hooks & Extensibility​

Stratus supports Uniswap v4 hooks: small, audited plug-ins that customize pool behavior, such as enforcing a token's launch-time tax settings directly at the swap level. Only hooks approved through Stratus's curated hook registry can be attached to a launch, protecting users from unvetted or malicious hook contracts.

Universal Staking Pools​

Projects launched through Stratus can spin up dedicated staking pools, letting their holders lock tokens in exchange for a share of ongoing rewards, funded by the project, the platform, or both. This gives every Stratus-launched token the same kind of holder-alignment tools available to established DeFi projects, without custom development.

Airfox DAO​

A DAO, or Decentralized Autonomous Organization, is a management structure that uses blockchain technology to automate certain aspects of voting and transaction processing. The Airfox DAO allows community members to propose and vote on community incentives, strategies, campaigns, platform rules, features to be developed, etc. The Airfox DAO utilizes Snapshot for a transparent and accessible voting protocol.

To participate, visit the site, connect your wallet that holds AFX, and vote on the proposals available. Voting only requires a signature, which does not incur a gas fee. To be eligible for voting, users must hold AFX tokens before proposal publication. Voting power is determined by the amount of tokens held when each proposal is created.

Standard Procedures​

Project proposals will be presented on social media for discussion, and discussions will be hosted on the Airfox community Discord server. Users of other platforms are encouraged to host their own local discussions.

• Proposal voting shall last 7 calendar days.
• All proposals are non-binding.
• There shall be no minimum quorum required for proposals to finalize.

Ecosystem participants holding at least 10,000,000 AFX tokens across all chains may create and submit proposals for voting.

The Airfox treasury admins, as well as long-standing community members, can moderate proposals and remove those that contain offensive language or graphic content. Proposals involving direct financial outcomes are disallowed.

Community proposals from all holders can be submitted at any time to dao@airfox.ac. Selected proposals shall be presented to the community for discussion before the decision is made to publish them for DAO voting.

Where We’ve Been​

We know some of you have been wondering what’s going on with SkyBridge, and that’s a fair question.

Last year, the technology we built for SkyBridge V2 was expanded into a larger product vision under a different brand. That team is making great progress, and we love what they’re building. We think you will, too. Meanwhile, we’ve quietly resumed SkyBridge development in-house since January, rebuilding the bridge from the ground up on Chainlink CCIP. What you’re reading today is the result.

We didn’t make noise about it. We just got to work. And now we’re about ready to drop something big.

SkyBridge V2 is a completely rebuilt cross-chain bridge with support for 10 networks, every standard ERC-20 token and NFT, a single flat fee, and zero permissions required. It’s the only permissionless gateway into the Chainlink CCIP ecosystem and you don’t need to be a developer to use it.

We’ll be sharing the official launch date on our social channels soon. In the meantime, here’s what we’ve been building.

The Problem Nobody Else Will Solve​

Crosschain bridges in 2026 are still gatekept. The major bridges only support a curated list of tokens decided by committees, foundations, and centralized approval processes. If your token isn’t on the list, you don’t get to play. If you’re a smaller project, a DAO treasury, or just someone who wants to move an asset from one chain to another, you’re waiting in line for permission that may never come.

SkyBridge was designed around a different idea: your tokens are yours, and you should be able to take them anywhere. Not just the tokens that made it onto someone else’s approved list. Every standard ERC-20. Every NFT. From any supported chain to any other. For a flat fee that doesn’t change based on how much you’re moving.

We didn’t wait for anyone’s permission to build this. We just created the solution.

V1 vs V2 at a Glance​

SkyBridge V1 proved the concept. It brought permissionless token bridging to Base, enabled NFT transfers, and introduced Supersonic withdrawals to bypass Optimism’s 7-day delay. Over 100 tokens were deployed to Base without any permissions required. But V1 had real limitations: it only supported Ethereum and Base, relied on Optimism’s centralized sequencer, required liquidity pools to power fast withdrawals, and multi-step transactions meant users had to come back hours or days later to finalize.

V2 is a different animal. Ten chains instead of two. Chainlink CCIP instead of Optimism. Single-transaction bridging instead of Prove-and-Finalize. No liquidity requirements. A flat fee model. Foxtails rewards for every bridge. And the same permissionless token support that made V1 special is now available across the entire CCIP ecosystem.

What’s New​

The Only Permissionless Gateway to Chainlink CCIP​

SkyBridge is the only way for any token to access Chainlink CCIP infrastructure without developer integration. Every other CCIP integration requires an SDK, custom code, and a development team. Ours requires a wallet and a click. If you’re a project without the resources to build a custom CCIP integration, a DAO looking to expand to new chains, or just a token holder who wants access to the most trusted cross-chain standard in the industry, SkyBridge is your only path onto that infrastructure.

Chainlink CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol) is the most widely adopted standard for secure cross-chain messaging in DeFi. It has secured billions of dollars in transaction value, and it’s backed by the same decentralized oracle network that the biggest protocols in crypto already rely on. By building on CCIP, SkyBridge inherits that security directly. Every cross-chain message is validated by Chainlink’s decentralized node operators.

When you bridge a token through SkyBridge, that asset enters the Chainlink ecosystem: recognized, verifiable, and portable. And for projects that want to go further, SkyBridge opens a decentralized path toward official token verification and submission to the Chainlink CCIP token registry. Here’s what building on CCIP means in practice:

• No more 7-day waits. The old Optimism withdrawal delay required users to wait a full week to move tokens back to Ethereum. CCIP validates transactions through its decentralized oracle network, not a centralized sequencer with a mandatory challenge period. Transfers complete in minutes.
• No more multi-step transactions. Bridging used to mean “Prove,” wait, then “Finalize.” With V2, it’s a single transaction. You send it, you’re done.
• No liquidity requirements. V1 needed capital reserves to power fast withdrawals through our Supersonic liquidity pools. CCIP’s architecture eliminates that dependency entirely. SkyBridge locks tokens on the source chain and mints a corresponding SkyToken on the destination via deterministic CREATE3 deployment. Same address, every chain, every time.

10 Networks at Launch​

SkyBridge V2 will support the following networks at launch, with more on the way:

The architecture is modular, meaning that adding new CCIP-supported chains is a configuration change, not a rewrite. And because governance matters to us, AFX holders can vote on which chains SkyBridge expands to next through the Airfox DAO. The community decides where we go.

Four Rails, One Front Door​

Under the hood, SkyBridge V2 operates a unified four-rail routing system through a single smart contract called the SkyBridgeEntryPoint. Users interact with one contract, approve tokens once, and pay one fee. The system determines the best route automatically. For the builders and the technically curious, here’s how it works:

Rail 1 - OP Standard Bridge. For ETH, WETH, and tokens on the Optimism token list. The legacy path, still available for users who prefer it.

Rail 2 - OP Custom Bridge. For AFX and factory-deployed tokens on Superchain L2s.

Rail 3 - Chainlink CCIP. The primary rail. Any standard ERC-20 or ERC-721 to any CCIP-supported chain. Permissionless token deployment, deterministic addressing, and full backward compatibility with existing tokens. This is where most of the action happens.

Rail 4 - Circle CCTP. Native USDC bridging via Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol. When you bridge USDC through SkyBridge, you receive real, canonical USDC on the destination.

One approval. One fee. One contract. The EntryPoint handles the routing.

Flat Fee for Everyone​

Every bridge transaction costs a small, fixed fee paid in the native asset of the chain you’re on: ETH on Ethereum, AVAX on Avalanche, BNB on BNB Chain, and so on. No percentage fees. No variable pricing. No hidden spreads.

This isn’t just a choice, it’s a necessity of being permissionless. When you support every standard ERC-20 without a whitelist, you can’t rely on price oracles to calculate percentage fees for tokens you’ve never seen before. A flat fee is the only model that works for truly open bridging. It also means we’re not penalizing larger transfers. The fee is the same whether you’re moving $100 or $10 million.

Fees are set per chain to account for differences in native asset prices and are adjustable as market conditions change. The exact amounts will be published at launch, but the model is what matters: a predictable, fixed cost that doesn’t scale with your transaction size.

That changes the math depending on who you are:

• For users - it’s simple and predictable. You know what you’re paying before you click. No surprises, no percentage taken out of your tokens on the other side.
• For projects - migrating your token to new chains doesn’t require writing code or paying proportional fees on your entire supply. Deploy to a new network through SkyBridge and your community can follow you there.
• For treasuries and funds - moving size doesn’t cost more. A flat rate means rebalancing across networks, migrating assets between chains, or consolidating positions is predictable and fixed. No percentage-based surprises on large transfers.
• For developers - build on top of SkyBridge. Integrate the API, let SkyBridge handle the cross-chain infrastructure, and focus on your product.

Permissionless by Design​

This is the part that matters most to us.

SkyBridge V2 allows any standard ERC-20 token to be bridged to any supported chain, even if that token has never existed on the destination before. When you bridge a token for the first time, SkyBridge automatically deploys a SkyToken on the destination that mirrors the original. The deployed token preserves the original’s name, symbol, and decimals. No developer intervention. No whitelisting. No forms. You can just do things.

In simple terms: SkyBridge locks your original token on the source chain and mints a SkyToken on the destination. But it doesn’t stop there. CCIP is smart enough to handle the accounting in every direction: if you bridge that SkyToken forward to a third chain, it mints on the existing deployment. If you bridge back to the origin, it burns the SkyToken and unlocks your original. Lock-and-mint, burn-and-unlock, mint-and-burn, the system determines the right path automatically, secured end-to-end by Chainlink CCIP. Every SkyToken receives the same contract address regardless of which chain it’s deployed on, because the address is derived deterministically from the original token’s address and origin chain. Your bridged token is recognizable, verifiable, and consistent across every network it touches.

The same system works for ERC-721 NFTs. Bridge your NFT collection to a new chain and SkyBridge deploys a SkyNFT wrapper that preserves metadata, per-token URIs, and EIP-2981 royalty information. Your art, your royalties, your rules, your chains.

We call this Digital Asset Abstraction. It’s not a concept or a roadmap item. It’s a deployed, tested, and audited system running across 10 networks.

Earn While You Bridge​

We recently introduced Foxtails as a way to get rewarded for using Airfox apps, and now, SkyBridge V2 is coming in for a landing. Every bridge transaction earns you Foxtails points: our ecosystem-wide loyalty system that rewards meaningful participation across everything Airfox builds.

Foxtails aren’t a token and they’re not tradeable. They’re a points system designed to recognize and reward the people who actually use the platform. The more you bridge, the more you earn.

The points you earn scale with what you do. Larger bridge transactions, longer staking commitments, and deeper engagement across the platform all earn more Foxtails. The same goes for Airfox Arcade. The type of activity, the time you spend, and the level of participation all factor in. The system is designed to reward meaningful contribution and dedication.

What can you do with them? Redeem Foxtails for exclusive drops, site badges, profile perks, digital collectibles, and even future real-world merchandise from The Hangar, our curated merch store featuring limited-edition pieces from featured artists around the world.

Foxtails also integrate deeply with Airfox Arcade. Playing games, publishing content, staking AFX, participating in governance, buying from the marketplace, all earns Foxtails. Bridging through SkyBridge is one of the core ways to accumulate them, and with V2’s expanded chain support, there are more opportunities to earn than ever.

Security​

SkyBridge holds user assets in smart contracts, and that demands real accountability. We don’t take shortcuts here.

The foundation of SkyBridge V2’s security model is Chainlink CCIP itself. Every cross-chain message is validated by Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network, the same infrastructure securing billions in value across DeFi. We inherit that trust model directly. There’s no custom validator set to worry about, no centralized relayer to trust. The network that already protects the largest protocols in crypto is the same one protecting your bridge transactions.

On top of that foundation, we’ve built additional layers of protection:

• Two completed audits by Hacken. one of the most respected security firms in blockchain. Our contracts have been reviewed, tested, and hardened across multiple audit rounds. You can view our audit reports here.
• Multisig protection on every admin function. SkyBridge’s admin is a 5-of-7 Gnosis Safe. No single key can pause the bridge, upgrade a contract, or move funds. Every administrative action requires coordination among KYC-verified signers.
• Two-step smart contract upgrades. Contract upgrades require a proposal by one role and finalization by a separate multisig. No unilateral changes.
• 48-hour withdrawal timelocks on emergency fund recovery. Even in a worst-case scenario, the system enforces a mandatory cooling period before funds can be moved.

Airfox is privately owned, fully registered, and FinCEN-compliant. No venture capital pressure. An independent team building real infrastructure out of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Bigger Picture

SkyBridge is the front door to the Airfox ecosystem, and V2 makes that door ten chains wide.

Airfox Arcade is live: a Web2.5 game platform and marketplace where developers publish games without hosting fees, KYC, or platform gatekeepers, and players compete for real prizes in skill-based competitions. Free games, daily and weekly leaderboards, a creative marketplace for digital content, and a growing library of titles from developers around the world. SkyBridge V2 makes Arcade fully chain-agnostic: bring your tokens from any supported network and jump in.

AFX staking is being integrated across our apps, rewarding holders who contribute to the platform with multipliers and incentives funded by DEX trading fees. The AFX token powers governance through the Airfox DAO, functions as Credits within Arcade competitions, and is used to pay network fees across the ecosystem.

Every bridge in this space was built around a list of rules about which tokens are allowed, which chains are supported, and who gets to decide. SkyBridge V2 was built without one.

Any token. Any chain. Any app. No code required. No developer permissions. No centralized token list standing between you and your assets. The only permissionless runway to Chainlink CCIP, with a flat fee, an open door, and Foxtails waiting on the other side.

We didn’t build SkyBridge because someone told us we could. We built it because no one can tell us we can’t.

SkyBridge V2 will initially launch on our current interface to get the new infrastructure into your hands as quickly as possible. A full UI redesign is already underway and will roll out in a follow-up update, rebuilt from the ground up to match the scale of what V2 can do.

How did we get here?​

Airfox has been a journey of patience, grit, and perseverance. In January of 2024, we outlined our vision for SkyBridge, a universal protocol that would empower users, creators, builders, institutions, projects:anyone, to make their assets unchained, bypassing centralized control across the existing cross-chain infrastructure spanning Ethereum, L2s, sidechains, and other EVM-compatible networks.

We pioneered permissionless token bridging: our proof-of-concept was designed around the promise of allowing simple token deployments from one chain to another, and we brought that vision to life through the SkyBridge Pilot program on Base. The Evolution of Supersonic​

What began as a clever workaround to centralized restrictions on the Optimism stack has evolved dramatically. Initially, it functioned as a liquidity pool that served as a buffer for long validation periods. However, we quickly realized that this could not scale. Supersonic had to evolve, and it did.

Supersonic is now an entirely custom transaction execution and settlement layer, supported by an independent, decentralized, Proof-of-Stake node network where anyone can easily operate a node, earning rewards by securing the network and validating transactions.

A Massive Leap Forward for the Community​

To provide the strongest value for AFX token holders, we have decided to allow Stratus Research, an independent partner, to acquire the technology behind what was formerly SkyBridge V2.

What does this mean for you?​

Stratus is launching its native protocol token, STRAT. Staking STRAT secures the network through the relayer infrastructure.

AFX holders who convert to STRAT will be eligible for boosted reward tiers on the Stratus platform, subject to the platform's reward schedule and availability. All AFX collected via DEX liquidity fees will be redistributed to the community through Stratus staking. Airfox Arcade will be the first project to fully leverage Stratus technology for a fully chain-agnostic experience, gaining exclusive first-mover advantage and early access to lead the market in chain-agnostic gaming.

As a technology solutions company, Airfox may, from time to time, license or provide its proprietary solutions to third parties in exchange for various forms of consideration, including cash, digital assets, or other assets. Participation in the conversion program does not create any ongoing obligation by Airfox or Stratus to maintain any particular token value, liquidity level, or reward rate.

Airfox is planning to convert a portion of its treasury to STRAT tokens through the service described previously, burning AFX tokens and staking STRAT tokens to support the network.

We have been recognized by Thrive Protocol for our development on SkyBridge, and we are thrilled to bring SkyBridge and CCIP to Polygon this July. Thank you, Polygon, for funding this program, which enabled us to expedite support for Polygon PoS on SkyBridge. This milestone-based grant program allows us to work closely with the folks at Thrive to help maximize our impact on Polygon by following simple tracks and getting awarded for milestones based on deployment status and usage metrics.

This means that users will soon be able to seamlessly transfer assets between Ethereum, Base, and Polygon using Chainlink CCIP.

Increased Token Support​

We recently announced that Airfox Arcade will be adding support for purchases in ETH and USDC! We understand crypto can be confusing, and this inaccessibility is the number one point of friction we hear from gamers new to Web3. Enabling the most commonly used and understood digital assets greatly reduces the barrier for entry into Base gaming and will do so much for onboarding new users. We call these new tokens "alternate currencies."

How will this work? Whenever a user pays for a game in an alternate currency, that asset is stored in a rewards pool as usual and is converted to AFX whenever a game's scheduled payout commences. This causes routine and constant buy pressure for the Airfox token and increased DEX volume. This updated token system will be further detailed in our documentation once released.

Memecoin Mayhem​

Also coming this month: a new mini-jam with a focus on Base communities, where the winning communities will receive token prizes and a listing for their token on Airfox Arcade for use in playing games and purchasing upcoming user marketplace content! Arcade Updates​

To make Airfox Arcade even easier to use, we will soon add support for game payments made in ETH and USDC on Base! In the background, this ETH or USDC will be used to automatically buy AFX every time a game is played on the Arcade.

To grow Airfox Arcade into a larger platform, we're enhancing social features such as comments, enhanced user profiles, and connections to other social media platforms. This will allow users to fully customize their profiles and share them easily, with planned features coming that will make their Airfox Arcade account function like a social media profile.

For developers, we are building out new features in the Unity plugin and expanding support for more game engines. Stay tuned for more details on what to expect!

SkyBridge V2 Updates​

So what have we been up to on the SkyBridge front? So much, let's dive in.

New Features Alert!​

SkyBridge Version 2.0 takes advantage of the diamond proxy pattern, which enables unparalleled modularity through the use of facets. Facets allow easy upgradeability of individual components or the addition of new features without the need for refactoring.

SkyBridge V2 will also have its own set of social features, including a direct link to your Airfox Arcade account, to create unified multichain leaderboards for game titles, multichain encrypted chat, unified incentive granting, global discounts, omnichain NFT ticketing, ENS/Basenames/Unstoppable Domains support, and general multichain digital asset management as a one-stop shop for all your digital assets.

Democratizing Liquidity​

Each reward pool allows stakers to democratically set their own rewards and fee rates on a per-asset basis, decentralizing liquidity control and allowing individual pools to function as their own rewards DAOs. We plan to allow original asset issuers to "claim" these DAOs by verifying contract ownership if they want to partner together for multichain support, or add custom incentives or plugins on SkyBridge.

Did I read that right? Plugins? Yes. ✅

SkyBridge V2 will support the use of third-party plugins to interact with our API endpoints. We plan to use our DAO to offer small to medium-sized grants to builders who build and utilize great plugins for SkyBridge and create innovative titles on Airfox Arcade. Stay tuned for more info!

In our previous article, we proudly introduced our new architecture for Airfox SkyBridge™ V2. Redesigning this release around Chainlink CCIP has been a significant undertaking, but we are proud to say that we are almost finished.

As a newer standard, Chainlink CCIP provides substantial benefits over Optimism for users, token holders, and asset issuers.

Wider Network Support​

Airfox SkyBridge 2.0 will support seven networks at launch, with regular updates to add more. Out of the box, all of the following networks will be supported:

• Ethereum
• Base
• Polygon (NEW !)
• Avalanche (NEW !)
• BNB Chain (NEW !)
• Sonic (NEW !)
• Arbitrum (NEW !)
• Unichain (NEW !)

This means that all standard digital assets issued on any of these networks can be freely transferred between chains.

Asset Abstraction for All​

SkyBridge V2 easily transforms all existing and legacy ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens into Chainlink CCIP-standard assets, ensuring seamless compatibility with any CCIP bridge, including Chainlink’s own Transporter Bridge. As CCIP adoption grows, SkyBridge advances the vision of Digital Asset Abstraction, allowing users to interact with assets permissionlessly across chains. This is all done with no code required, no permissions to ask for, and no hoops to jump through.

Building upon V1’s goal of a unified Ethereum ecosystem, V2 leverages a more powerful standard to enable unrestricted access to tokens on any chain. Users can transfer any token or NFT from a supported chain and utilize it in any DApp across all supported networks.

Supersonic Everything​

If you recall, Optimism enforces a mandatory 7-day withdrawal delay on all outbound transactions. To overcome this limitation, SkyBridge V1 introduced a liquidity pool system, called Supersonic, that allowed users to bypass this withdrawal delay entirely.

While effective, this system faced fundamental obstacles to scaling:

• Adding support for other tokens requires intense capital contributions.
• Moving tokens from L2 to L1 still requires multiple transactions.
• This system is inherently centralized and requires a secure liquidity pool and bridge protocol.
• Adding additional chains increases transaction cost and complexity exponentially.

These problems have been solved.

Unlike Optimism, Chainlink CCIP uses a decentralized approach to validating its transactions. This process requires no mandatory waiting periods, meaning all transactions for all tokens will be processed immediately. Since CCIP is decentralized, fees remain equal across all source and destination networks, and transactions are verified for authenticity by the validator network.

Lower Fees and a Better User Experience​

With SkyBridge V2, bridging tokens between chains is now a single transaction! Users will no longer be required to return hours (or even days) later to perform additional transactions. The days of "Prove" and "Finalize" are over.

If you still want to use the standard Optimism bridge, SkyBridge V2 will offer Legacy Mode, maintaining full compatibility with the centralized Optimism token list.

SkyBridge fixes this.

New Rewards​

By transitioning to CCIP, liquidity is no longer required to transfer assets at Supersonic speeds. This enhanced performance allows us to retire our old Unalloyed Liquidity proposal in favor of some upgrades.

Smarter Fees and Robust Rewards​

Single-token and LP rewards pools are available for AFX + all tokens that collect a pool fee. 35% of rewards are provided to single-token stakers, while 65% is provided to LP stakers.

Rewards are directly proportional to your stake in each pool.

Automatic Token Buybacks​

To boost AFX reward rates, 25% of protocol fees are being used to automatically buy AFX tokens and distribute them to rewards pools. Deposits are never locked, and single-token farm deposits are always immune to impermanent loss. This means AFX stakers will earn rewards from every transaction on SkyBridge, no matter the asset.

Unlike the competition, SkyBridge V2 allows you to harvest your rewards on any chain. This saves you a step on your way to your favorite DApps.

Rewards Pool Events​

Projects across all supported chains can deposit their tokens into rewards pools to boost reward rates. This allows projects, DAOs, and foundations to host their own rewards programs directly on SkyBridge.

As the first to launch, the AFX token will kick off its rewards program with a bang! We will allocate 100% of AFX tokens earned from our primary Uniswap LP to SkyBridge rewards. This ensures that millions of AFX tokens will always be available for stakers to earn over time.

Liquidity Mining​

New to SkyBridge V2 are rewards pools for Uniswap V4 LP positions. With our implementation of V4's new Subscribers feature, users can earn additional rewards from Skybridge on top of their Uniswap LP rewards.

Available for all tokens, our V4 pools reward 65% of all pool fees generated by SkyBridge directly to LP token stakers. Because SkyBridge supports all tokens on all supported networks, our liquidity mining program automatically incentivizes existing projects to participate and earn yield as users transmit their tokens across chains to use in applications on other networks.

This also encourages deeper liquidity for trading on new chains and helps to alleviate issues with multichain liquidity where other prior solutions have failed: liquidity fragmentation, decreased pool size after multichain access, and increased price volatility across all chains.

We’re excited to announce that private alpha testing for SkyBridge V2 is already underway! Over the upcoming weeks, we will be inviting top community members to participate in private A/B testing of our UI for feedback.

In addition, we will be hosting a holders-only Beta on testnet. To join, you must hold at least 1 million AFX tokens. We will be rewarding testnet users up to 100k AFX tokens just for participating!

Our time at ETHDenver was unforgettable: back-to-back meetings, top-class events, private brunches, personalized demos, and social mixers. Now we want the rest of you to come aboard and see what's been cooking in the cockpit all this time.

We have teased for a while that we're working on something big. Many of you have been following our posts on social media, where we have already let the cat (or is it the fox? 🦊) out of the bag: we came primarily to discuss the future of SkyBridge with the Chainlink team. But we get it, you want to know more.

Airfox is working with Chainlink to scale SkyBridge. SkyBridge Version 2.0 will be fully supported by Chainlink CCIP and will be the only permissionless integration that allows backward compatibility with any standard ERC-20 or ERC-721 token. SkyBridge V2 can bring any token to any destination, all without developer permission or programming skills required.

This entirely new infrastructure has secretly been in development since September, and we are excited to announce that it is nearly complete. We had our first in-person private meeting with Chainlink, and it couldn't have gone better! So much has changed under the hood, including a ton of new surprises and features. We will be releasing more details on our new features to show what makes us more than "just another bridge integration." The Airfox and Chainlink teams' excitement is palpable, and the long-term vision we have together is mutual. 🤝

Who Let the Fox Out? (Who, who, who, who, who?)​

The team made Chainlink House our convention home, but they weren't the only people we booked with. We are grateful to have enjoyed very warm introductions to the SUI founders' team, along with some new upcoming L1s/L2s/EVM-integrations, amazing protocol founders, grant-writers, and a group of VCs thanks to work from our most dedicated community members. We will be following up with these in the coming days once everyone internationally is settled back at home, and we aim to work alongside some large protocols and new core ecosystem partners.

We are blown away by the response we received from our colleagues, both new and old, from integration proposals to droves of people lining up to talk to us. There is so much more to talk about, but we will have to save that for next time.

Finally, it was just amazing to see what people were working on! We were inspired to see the intense level of passion from fellow developers, founders, and investors in the space. The immense potential that Airfox unlocks quickly became obvious. Or to put it simply, as one of our partners described, we are on track to solve "a ten-figure problem" in the industry.

Bridging New Gaps​

Our introduction to the Stellar ecosystem first came from our colleague Kim at Multichain Day, an event for multi-chain Dapps to network and discuss their protocol with guests. We sat down with Anuhya from Stellar to discuss SkyBridge in depth and what we can bring to their network with our updated tech stack.

Like everyone else we spoke to, she was very interested in users being able to bring their favorite digital assets from Ethereum into the Stellar ecosystem. Stellar has recently introduced EVM-compatible smart contracts, and the foundation is highly interested in users being able to utilize ETH digital assets on Stellar Dapps.

We are currently an applicant in their kickstart grant program and are exploring additional grant opportunities in their ecosystem. More info to come!

This is why we are changing something for the better: the Airfox DAO.

What IS changing​

With the help of our attorneys, we have developed an updated governance framework to increase transparency and further demonstrate the AFX token as a utility token. Here is what we are changing:

• There will be no more direct voting on financial outcomes. This includes VC or institutional investments, marketing budgets, or other direct spending from the account.
• We are opening proposal creation to everyone holding at least 10 million AFX tokens combined across all networks, there is still no direct voting on spending. Proposals should focus on platform rules, community incentives, development direction, feature requests, collaboration proposals, etc.
• Assigned moderators will be able to remove proposals that contain vulgar language or graphic content.
• In this article, an updated governance framework will replace the previous DAO Constitution.

Why these changes?​

As mentioned previously, we regularly conduct reviews of our procedures and rules with our firm-on-retainer. While these changes are simple, it is important to understand why these changes are being implemented, and what it means for our future pacing:

• We are developing ecosystem builder programs to highlight and reward dedicated builders in the Airfox ecosystem, including but not limited to:
  • Applications, plugins, and interfaces for SkyBridge and Airfox Arcade.
  • Games, software, and utilities for Airfox Arcade.
  • Community artists, designers, and creators of physical, digital, or live performance creations.
• It allows us to negotiate larger fundraising deals. This will rapidly accelerate platform development, adoption, and prestige in the industry.
• It enables us to host private funding rounds for development and marketing.
• We can reward users directly through SkyBridge and Airfox Arcade protocol usage, rather than direct revenue-sharing.
• We can more transparently custody project reserve assets such as ETH, tokens, and stablecoins.

These changes reaffirm the status of the Airfox (AFX) token as a utility token servicing and governing Web3 applications, in which token rewards are derived directly from platform usage, not a form of equity or ownership of the company, or a direct obligation of revenue derived from the company, or as a common enterprise of pooled resources.

What is NOT changing​

Arguably more important than what is changing, is what is not changing. Below are important items that have not changed:

• For security, the Treasury still does not directly interact with third-party Dapps, with the exception of ENS domain management, and can only receive and send assets to EOAs.

We have already updated all project documentation and articles to reflect these changes.

Updated Governance Framework​

A DAO, or Decentralized Autonomous Organization, is a management structure that uses blockchain technology to automate certain aspects of voting and transaction processing. The Airfox DAO allows community members to propose and vote on community incentives, strategies, campaigns, platform rules, features to be developed, etc.

The Airfox DAO utilizes Snapshot for a transparent and accessible voting protocol.

To participate, visit the site, connect your wallet that holds AFX, and vote on the proposals available. Voting only requires a signature, which does not incur a gas fee. To be eligible for voting, users must hold AFX tokens before proposal publication. Voting power is determined by the amount of tokens held when each proposal is created.

Standard Procedures​

Project proposals will be presented on social media for discussion, and discussions will be hosted on the Airfox community Discord server. Users of other platforms are encouraged to host their own local discussions.

• Proposal voting shall last 7 calendar days.
• All proposals are non-binding.
• There shall be no minimum quorum required for proposals to finalize.

Proposal Creation​

Ecosystem participants holding at least 10,000,000 AFX tokens across all chains may create and submit proposals for voting.

The Airfox treasury admins, as well as long-standing community members, can moderate proposals and remove those that contain offensive language or graphic content. Proposals involving direct financial outcomes are disallowed.

Community proposals from all holders can be submitted at any time to dao@aviator.ac. Selected proposals shall be presented to the community for discussion before the decision is made to publish them for DAO voting.

Game Jam and Airfox Arcade Public Beta​

You have been asking. Now we are here to deliver.

This year, we are upping our prize pool, bigly! 🥳 Compared to last year, our prize pool totals $5,000 USD in cash prizes, spread out across five different voting categories. That's five times the size of last year!

This year, all games submitted will be playable on the Arcade public beta using real AFX tokens on-chain on Base! That also means that public beta will go live for everyone at around the same time.

Airfox Arcade Pioneers​

You may recall the following from our original Flightpaper:

Developers who publish games on Airfox Arcade within 90 days of its launch will receive a permanent 5% bonus in passive income for hosting their games on the platform. This bonus, shared amongst so-called Airfox Pioneer Developers, is an additional bonus to the existing 45% and is deducted from the operations distribution.

Time sure flies by! It's time to get serious. And we have a couple of changes to make for our final design~

The Airfox Arcade Pioneer NFT token will have the following final details:

• Any developer who publishes a game on Airfox Arcade during the BETA will be minted this NFT directly to their developer wallet.
• We have decided to ALLOW secondary sales of this NFT to allow developers down the road to acquire their bonus in the decentralized secondary market.
  • A 25% royalty is enforced on all secondary sales to encourage developers to build for Airfox Arcade for a long time.
• The Airfox DAO will no longer have the authority to issue these NFTs.
• The Airfox DAO will have the ability to disable an NFT to ensure decentralized security and accountability to punish developers who engage in fraud.

Airfox Arcade - Revised Workflow​

The Airfox Arcade platform is undergoing a significant change in how user registration, account funding, and game sessions operate. Below is an outline of the new functionality.

User Registration and Credits​

1. On-chain Registration

• On Airfox Arcade, AFX tokens on Base are called credits.
• Users now register directly on-chain, creating a blockchain-based identity on Base.
• During registration, a user account is created that can hold credits.

2. Importing Credits

• Users who already have a blockchain wallet can acquire AFX tokens for use in the arcade by bridging from Ethereum to Base, trading tokens on Uniswap, or buying AFX token credits with a debit card through our partner, Flooz.

3. Adding New Credits

• Users without a blockchain wallet can choose to sign up for Airfox Arcade with their email and a password.
  • Users can choose to connect a wallet later to withdraw their credits in the form of AFX tokens on Base for personal use.
  • This approach will enable alternative payment methods (e.g., debit cards) for purchasing credits, as well as onboarding new users to Base who do not yet have a wallet.
• Admins can add credits directly to user accounts without requiring a wallet. This is funded by the backend wallet connected to the Arcade.
  • This allows users without a wallet to participate. Wallets can be linked later for withdrawing credits or other blockchain interactions.
  • Game Jam developers will be able to play all games on the platform for free during the full game jam calendar period.

Backend Wallet and Account Management​

• A backend wallet manages account creation and score submissions on behalf of the user.
  • Game Jam participants will be flagged with a gamejam user flag.
  • All wallet and blockchain interactions are handled entirely by the backend wallet for flagged accounts.
  • This allows Game Jam users to focus on game development without needing a wallet or credits to get started.

Solidity Contract Adaptations​

The Airfox Arcade Solidity contract is undergoing the following changes to accommodate these updates:

• User Struct Updates
  • Add a credits field to the User struct to track Game Jam user balances.
  • Include a linkedWallet field for wallet linkage functionality.
• Admin Credit Management
  • Create functions to allow admins to add or remove credits from a user's account.
• Backend Wallet Integration
  • Add functionality for the backend wallet to manage accounts and interact with blockchain transactions on behalf of users.

Benefits​

• Enhanced Accessibility: Users without wallets can still engage with the platform.
  • Wallets can be linked later for withdrawals or advanced features.
• Developer-Friendly: Simplifies game jam participation by handling blockchain operations via the backend.
• Sustainable Model: Project fees create a sustainable revenue stream for platform longevity.

What an exciting few weeks! Following the successful launch of SkyBridge, our team has been hard at work in the background building out SkyBridge and Airfox Arcade, as well as forming new partnerships and relationships with incredible projects and companies in the space.

SkyBridge Launch​

Alongside our launch, we partnered with professional Base Jumper Tim Howell to create an exciting launch video.

Tim Howell and Airfox partnered to send a message on the importance of being prepared and the sense of confidence and security it instills. SkyBridge has been extensively audited by Hacken in order to provide the most secure experience possible when transferring assets between Ethereum and Base.

The Bridge to Everywhere​

We recently shared a blog outlining the first major utility update to Airfox SkyBridge, called Unalloyed Liquidity. We have been silent on this since publishing, but are now ready to report some great news!

We have hired multiple additional developers since the initial release of SkyBridge and have dramatically increased our development efficiency. Not only is our work at testnet readiness, but we have also been able to include several unannounced features that will be sure to increase SkyBridge's market share in the Web3 infrastructure space. Findings Explained​

Now that we have completed our second audit with Hacken, we are incredibly proud to share that over these two revisions, there have been no critical issues, and all security issues have been resolved! (🎉) As a part of these audits, Hacken also reports various non-security suggestions called "Observations" that developers have the choice to accept or change.

Sometimes referred to as "Info" or "Informational" findings, these items do not affect the security of any audited code, and Hacken does not assign a severity level to these items in their methodology.

There were eighteen observational-only findings reported by our auditors, with eleven being fixed and seven being accepted.

Why Accepted and Not Fixed?​

In the end, there were seven observations that our development team acknowledged and chose to leave in place. Most of these are a result of leftover code from our implementation of the Optimism Standard Bridge. As mentioned earlier, these are merely code observations, none of these issues are related to security and can be safely ignored.

The list of accepted findings below have been taken directly from the Audit report:

List of Accepted Findings​

1. F-2024-4273 - Mismatch Between Off-Chain Messages and Function Selectors

• This is how off-chain messages and function selectors are handled on the Standard Optimism Bridge which we are built upon, so we elected to leave this as is.

2. F-2024-4255 - Incorrect Bridge Address Initialization

• This is intentional, as we cannot assign an address to OTHER_BRIDGE in the constructor until both bridges are deployed.

3. F-2024-4238 - Code Style Inconsistency

• The Standard Optimism bridge contains these same inconsistencies from multiple collaborators, so we elected to leave it as is.

4. F-2024-4237 - onlyEOA Modifier Does Not Prevent Contracts From Calling the Bridge's Functionality

• This is included directly from our implementation of the Standard Optimism Bridge, so we elected to leave it as is. SkyBridge does not restrict access from other Smart Contracts (Gnosis Safe, Third-Party Routers, etc.)

5. F-2024-4229 - Old Solidity Version May Result in Unsafe Code

• This is a file with simple constants only and was not updated at the time of auditing. This has since been updated.

6. F-2024-4223 - Deprecated Optimism Predeploys Address Causing Unexpected Results

• The Optimism Standard Bridge still uses this internally, so we elected to leave it as is.

7. F-2024-4222 - Usage of receive() Function for Bridging may Revert

• This is included directly from our implementation of the Standard Optimism Bridge, so we elected to leave it as is. SkyBridge does not restrict access from other Smart Contracts (Gnosis Safe, Third-Party Routers, etc.)

Risks Explained​

Hacken has identified several potential risks associated with SkyBridge that they believe users should be aware of, and we agree! Many of the identified risks are inherent in all bridges, including the bridge's ability to pause transactions and future upgrade plans for the protocol.

No protocol is without risks, and users should be aware of all potential risks associated with any platform they use to handle their assets. Let's quickly go over a few common risks that have been outlined in detail by Hacken.

Access Control​

Many smart contracts will have an owner or admin address that can call special restricted functionality. Theoretically, a malicious admin user could wreak havoc on a trusted protocol.

In our case, the admin is able to set bridge and backend addresses, set fee addresses, update bridging fees, pause bridging for users, set the AFX address on L2, and manage other access roles. As previously documented in our Flightpaper, SkyBridge's only admin role account is a 5-7 multi-sig smart contract by Gnosis Safe. You can find the address of this multi-sig at skybridge-admin.eth. The 7 signers of this smart contract are listed and linked below:

All signers are KYC'd by SolidProof, with the founder and company KYC'd by Coinbase and registered with Fincen in the state of New Mexico.

Additionally, a special pauser role exists in SkyBridge which is granted to Hacken Extractor for emergency response in case of an exploit. Only the pauser and admin roles are able to pause the bridge.

Upgradeable Contracts​

Proxy contracts are a type of smart contract which utilize “implementations” to point to a new contract version. Implementations can only be changed by the proxy contract’s admin, and allows for contracts to be upgraded at any time. Skybridge utilizes proxy contracts to allow for bug fixing, introducing new functionality, or to otherwise change bridge behavior. Theoretically, however, a malicious admin could push unsafe code in a proxy upgrade.

Hacken Risks Report​

Below is a list of every risk identified by Hacken, as well as our reasonings and responses. As always, we invite you to ask any questions in our Discord or Telegram communities if you would like any further information or clarification!

The architecture of some contracts including L1AviBridge, L1AviERC721Bridge,  L2AviBridge,  LiquidityPool,  L2AviERC721Bridge,  SkyBridgeERC20Factory and SkyBridgeERC721Factory relies on administrative keys for critical operations. Centralized control over these keys presents a significant security risk, as compromise or misuse can lead to unauthorized actions or loss of funds. It is recommended to use a multi-signature wallet with a proper minimal signatures threshold.

• This is currently a necessary feature in SkyBridge and is extensively documented in our Whitepaper and online documentation.

The contracts L1AviBridge and L2AviBridge provide users with the capability to specify a custom gasLimit for the transfer of Ether or ERC20 tokens. However, if the gasLimit is set incorrectly, it poses a risk that transactions may become indefinitely stuck in pending status or be reverted.

• This is correct, as general user interaction sets a gasLimit when interacting with SkyBridge contracts through the web UX. gasLimit is left customizable for third-party developer integrations.

The protocol's contracts, including L1AviERC721Bridge and AviBridge, incorporate functionality that can be paused, such as  finalizeBridgeERC721(), finalizeBridgeETH(), and finalizeBridgeERC20(). Pausing these finalization functions creates a risk that deposit or withdrawal transactions may not revert, potentially leading to the loss of users' funds.

• Pausable functionality was introduced in between our two security audits as an emergency response in the event of an exploit. Pausing can only be called by the admin and pauser roles. The pauser role is granted to Hacken Extractor, Hacken’s post-deployment security solution for attack detection and prevention, for emergency intervention if an exploit response is triggered.

Hardcoded addresses in the AviPredeploys library and the OTHER_BRIDGE address from the L2AviBridge contract, which cannot be changed after its initialization, create a risk of issues if one of the aforementioned addresses will be changed in the future, but the Bridge contracts will not have any setter mechanism to update it.

• We have elected to use upgradeable proxy addresses for L1AviBridge, L2AviBridge, L1AviERC721Bridge, L2AviERC721Bridge, and LiquidityPool to allow changes of implementation for major updates, bug-fixes, or other necessary changes for protocol features and security. These changes are only permissible with a 5-7 approval from the admin smart contract address.

The protocol is relying on the out-of-scope and off-chain functionality to handle its operations, which creates a risk of introducing new security concerns, due to the fact that this part of the project is out-of-scope, hence was not deeply reviewed within the current security assessment:  CrossDomainMessenger, SafeCall, OptimismMintableERC20, Predeploys, IOptimismMintableERC721, ILegacyMintableERC20.

• These are contracts inherited from Optimism and have been previously audited extensively.

The SkyBridge team is planning to add new chains to the current SkyBridge solution in the future, which can potentially introduce new security risks to the system.

• The introduction of new Optimism-based chains (and later on non Optimism-based chains) will add increased cross-chain compatibility for the SkyBridge token standard. These additions will be third-party audited and tested before mainnet implementation.

The SkyBridgeERC20 token contract contains the function burn() to burn users' tokens. However, it lacks the _spendAllowance() function call, which means that the bridge calling SkyBridgeERC20::burn() can burn users' tokens without their approval. It creates a security risk that the BRIDGE will contain the address of other entity not related to the bridge, which will be able to burn users' tokens at its will.

• This is intentional, as a SkyBridgeERC20 token contains a reference to its bridge address [see IOptimismMintableERC20.sol for the standard Optimism implementation] which enables minting and burning of an ERC20 token on L2. Burning is only called when a token is withdrawn from a L2 chain, and minting is only called when a token is deposited to an L2 chain.
• While it is possible that BRIDGE could theoretically point to an incorrect bridge address and allow burning or minting of a single token, such an address would not be able to arbitrarily burn any tokens from said user address.
• The internal bridge referenced in SkyBridgeERC20 is set on deployment and cannot be changed.

The project's contracts SkybridgeERC20 and SkyBridgeERC721 are upgradable, allowing the administrator to update the contract logic at any time. While this provides flexibility in addressing issues and evolving the project, it also introduces risks if upgrade processes are not properly managed or secured, potentially allowing for unauthorized changes that could compromise the project's integrity and security.

• We have elected to use upgradeable proxy addresses for L1AviBridge, L2AviBridge, L1AviERC721Bridge, L2AviERC721Bridge, and LiquidityPool to allow changes of implementation for major updates, bug-fixes, or other necessary changes for protocol features and security. These changes are only permissible with a 5-7 approval from the admin smart contract address.

The testing of various contracts and workflows within the project is insufficient, leading to low reliability. It is crucial to emphasize that comprehensive testing is an essential component of any project. Failing to achieve complete test coverage poses significant risks and reduces the project's reliability.

• Due to unit test coverage no longer being a factor in Hacken's audit scoring methodology, we elected to work on test coverage outside of the audit instead of during it.

The address of the flatFeeRecipient in the L1AviBridge contract should be an independent address according to the project's documentation. However, this address is setup to the same address as the LiquidityPool in the contract constructor(). As a consequence, the function  _initiateETHDeposit() performs two calls to the same address, duplicating the transactions. Furthermore, the malicious address can be set as a flatFeeRecipient or LIQUIDITY_POOL, which can create additional security risks to the system.

• This is correct as the flatFeeRecipient address defaults to LiquidityPool, however this value must be manually set to the correct address by the admin shortly after deployment.
• SkyBridge is deployed with a false pause state of true, therefore this is always changed and verified before any transactions can take place.

The protocol has no methods to track users' assets and allow tokens to be retrieved in case of failure. There can be several reasons why the bridge operation may not succeed on the destination chain, and assets become stuck: native tokens being sent to a contract that cannot handle them, transactions not meeting the requirements criteria in the destination chain, lack of liquidity in the liquidity pool.

• This is also the case in the Standard Optimism Bridge. It is theoretically possible for funds to become stuck in-transit, as they have previously in Optimism's Bridge. Users should be aware of the potential for loss in any bridge, including ones outside of Optimism's Superchain.
• SkyBridge Supersonic withdrawals are resistant to this issue as funds are immediately credited to a user account.

Tokens can be retrieved from the LiquidityPool contract by the DEFAULT_ADMIN_ROLE via withdrawERC20() and withdrawETH(). Although this is a trusted address, the scenario is still possible and should be noted.

• This is intended. In the event of a disaster recovery scenario, this allows for the bridge to be paused so that funds may be manually returned to users.

ERC721 tokens can be bridged into the protocol. Users should be aware that ERC721 are unique assets with specific properties and data, and they rely on the Airfox protocol to bridge the token features correctly.

• SkyBridge creates a 1:1 peg of the L1 ERC721 token to be deployed. Standard on-chain features are preserved in this operation. Off-chain attributes and custom features rely on implementation from the NFT administrator.

The contract AviPredeploys contain hardcoded addresses that should be updated during project deployment.

• SkyBridge is deployed with a false pause state of true, Therefore these addresses are always changed and verified before any transactions can take place.

Although the flat fee and the liquidity fee have a predefined value described in the documentation, the protocol has the capability to change these values.

• This is correct. The admin role has the ability to change the flat fee from 0 to .005 ETH, and the liquidity fee from 0% to 10%.
• The Airfox DAO has the sole authority to change the liquidity fee, which is collected for bridge liquidity and shall be used for LP rewards in a future update.

The base contracts AviBridge and AviERC721Bridge should introduce  storage gaps →. When working with upgradeable contracts, it is necessary to introduce storage gaps to base contracts to allow a storage extension during upgrades. Storage gaps are a convention for reserving storage slots in a base contract, allowing future versions of that contract to use up those slots without affecting the storage layout of child contracts. Without a storage gap, the variable in the child contract might be overwritten by the upgraded base contract if new variables are added to the base contract. This could have unintended and very serious consequences for the child contracts.

• This has since been fixed.

The following contracts lack the invocation of _disableInitializers in the constructor: L1AviBridge, L2AviBridge, L1AviERC721Bridge, L2AviERC721Bridge. Leaving an upgradeable smart contract uninitialized may lead to a takeover of the implementation contract, which could result in several undesired side effects.

• This has since been fixed.

The state variables  REMOTE_TOKEN, BRIDGE,  DECIMALS  and  REMOTE_CHAIN_ID  defined in the contracts SkyBridgeERC20 and SkyBridgeERC721 should be set as immutable to save gas.

• This is a gas optimization issue and has since been fixed.

The Zero Address and Zero Value checks introduced in SkyBridgeERC721's constructor() are redundant since those addresses are originated in the corresponding factory, where they are already checked.

• This redundancy, while present, does not affect bridge security.

The returned addresses newSkybridgeERC721 and newSkyBridgeERC20 should be checked not to be the Zero Address (0x0) to make sure the contract was created correctly.

• SkyBridge always checks every deploy to ensure it was successfully executed before allowing users to deposit any L1 token to a new SkyBridgeERC20 L2 token.

The state variables  L1AviERC721Bridge::_isPaused  and  AviBridge::_numAdmins will not be initialized to the defined values since they belong to an implementation contract. If said variables should have any value, they should be setup in the contract's initialization function.

• SkyBridge is deployed with a false pause state of true. Therefore these addresses are always changed and verified before any transactions can take place.

Using the Ownable instead of Ownable2Step in the  SkyBridgeERC20Factory  and SkyBridgeERC721Factory creates a risk that the contract ownership will mistakenly be transferred to an address that cannot handle it.

• There are no plans to change ownership away from the 5-7 multi-sig admin address.

If the deployment and the initialization of the implementation contracts, which are L1AviBridge,  L1AviERC721Bridge,  L2AviBridge  and  L2AviERC721Bridge, will not be handled within one transaction, it can cause the frontrunning of the initialize() functions by the attacker which will lead to unexpected system behavior.

• This has been fixed by us using _disableInitializers() .

The base upgradeable contracts AviBridge and AviERC721Bridge lack the upgradeable import AccessControlUpgradeable, which creates a risk of problems in the future due to the missing gaps. Moreover, the initialize() functions of AviBridge and AviERC721Bridge should call the  AccessControlUpgradeable::__AccessControl_init() function of the parent contract AccessControlUpgradeable.

• This has since been fixed.

Public salt parameters of the  SkyBridgeERC20Factory::createSkyBridgeERC20()  and SkyBridgeERC721Factory::createSkyBridgeERC721() functions create a risk that external actors will use this data and deploy a contract to the generated address in advance.

• This is not an issue per the steps done by create2 when providing a salt argument, per its documentation.

The system lacks the whitelisting for both ERC20 and ERC721 bridge operations, which can potentially break the system if malicious tokens are used.

• This is intended behavior, as the protocol is unrestricted and does not impose whitelisting for token deployments.
• There are expected misbehaviors with fee-on-transfer tokens and rebase tokens leading to potential accounting errors and partial loss. The end user accepts this possibility when deploying their assets using SkyBridge.

Why ditch Medium?

We believe that having our own self-hosted publication, in concert with our new website, will dramatically increase our level of professionalism. That being said, we are not abandoning our presence on Medium, and will continue to cross-publish new articles there as a secondary source for users who prefer it. We have also cross-published our previous Medium articles on CoinMarketCap, X (formerly Twitter), and right here on our new Blog. Summarily:

• Keeping all our news articles on our own domain has a stronger look and feel.
• Self-hosting protects us from changes to other services which regulate their own content and users in very different ways. We use no geo-restrictions on our content, and are highly-resistant to censoring and bot attacks.
• Our blog allows multiple authors to publish content, which allows for a greater variety of media to be shared.

Product Updates

Earlier this May, we released SkyBridge to a public beta testnet which allowed all users to interact with our work-in-progress User Interface. We received a tremendous amount of feedback and conducted two rounds of focus groups to review feedback and desired changes. And what was the overwhelming response?

SkyBridge must be easier to use.

We heard you.

We took this feedback from our testnet website (which is now closed) and rebuilt our design from the ground up. We will continue to evolve our designs based on user feedback and additional live test sessions.

Our new transaction confirmation screen transparently breaks down all fees. View pending transactions and complete required actions on our new activity page. Design subject to change.

Our previous confirmation screen lacked necessary clarity for users. SkyBridge's previous activity screen, while functional, left much to be desired.

Unified Branding​

In addition to user feedback, we have also received extensive feedback from crypto institutions. Using this information (based on direct suggestions from a member of Coinbase's Base team) we went to the drawing board to re-conceptualize our brand presence. Our unified branding will become omnipresent across all our different applications to create cohesion for our users and partners.

We have updated and relaunched our HackenProof bug bounty program for SkyBridge's new smart contracts! This bounty will run indefinitely with rewards up to $15,000 in USDT for valid bug reports.

Crowdsourcing security through a bug bounty program will further protect SkyBridge and the Airfox ecosystem. Skilled hackers can earn cash prizes for their work in uncovering potential exploits that our development team can quickly patch on the spot.

What’s Next?

SkyBridge is next! We have a lengthy events calendar lined up for our launch week, so stay tuned! The release date will be shared 3-5 days before the mainnet launch. We could not be more excited to share our work of this year with you all. 

Additionally, a detailed documentation website for developers wanting to build on / integrate SkyBridge into their apps, as well as for generalized user-support and address references, will be published alongside SkyBridge’s release.

We will publish another blog article this week taking a deeper dive into our recent Hacken audit, an exploration of risks and the design decisions behind them, security considerations made by the development team for attack prevention and disaster recovery, and business logic considerations and how they reflect in the final design of our smart contracts for SkyBridge.

One year ago, our team laid out our flight plans and we set out to further develop what we believed to be the best aspects of decentralization. Within the first days of our existence, we shared a vision of a more perfect union between token holders and project developers, and laid the groundwork for the past eleven months of progress.

Tokenomics Status Update​

Our token distribution has naturally shifted since our launch, and our scheduled inflation through team token distributions is now completed. We are proud to be the only project of our size to fully utilize a DAO voting system for absolute control over treasury funds. This means that nothing is allowed to leave the treasury without a majority vote in our DAO, as promised in our active DAO Constitution.

In an industry that has increasingly become overpopulated by short-sighted projects with enormous allocations pre-set for VCs and insiders, we are proud to have only offered a maximum of 5% to our team.

Liquidity Relocking​

When we launched a year ago on July 13th, 2023, we provided an initial liquidity of 6,000,000,000 AFX and 3 WETH to Uniswap V2 before locking it for exactly one year in UNCX. This liquidity has grown substantially over time as our project has grown and currently represents over 1,000,000.00 USD in tradeable liquidity, an increase of 16,000%, with a fair market token value increase of 26,000%.

Our project-provided liquidity will unlock on July 13th, 2024. At this time, the following will occur:

• Liquidity will be unlocked from UNCX.
• The Airfox Treasury will collect LP fees provided through the Uniswap protocol.
• Collected AFX shall be transferred to the Operations Wallet.
• Collected ETH shall be transferred to the project’s Coinbase account to be re-invested into project development.
• Liquidity will be migrated from Uniswap V2 to Uniswap V3 [0.3% fee structure] using Uniswap’s liquidity migration tool.
• Liquidity will be relocked for one year in UNCX.

During this process, absolutely no action is required by token holders. There will never be any token migration event, and you will never be required to connect your wallet to any website to use the tokens you already own.

You may find that your wallet will ask you to approve spending for AFX if you sell it on Uniswap V3. This is because different versions of the Uniswap protocol each require their own approval for each token you wish to spend.

Product Development Updates​

SkyBridge​

Our developers are working diligently in preparation for the mainnet release of SkyBridge. Hacken is currently auditing our final smart contracts, and we are ecstatic to launch soon. At this time, we have decided not to publish a launch date in advance. Instead, news of the launch will be shared once it is already live.

Airfox Arcade​

We have been making great progress on Airfox Arcade. Our team has been fleshing out our in-house games and are preparing for another Game Jam event this summer, keep an eye out!

Smart contracts for Airfox Arcade are nearly completed at this time and will undergo a security audit before launch. Meanwhile, we are planning to recruit more and more developers to build on the platform. Remember, early developers receive a permanent 5% bonus on their games!

Community Rewind​

Our team took a lot of time to reflect on the past year and all that the community has accomplished for Airfox. We were truly astonished by the commitment and dedication community members have shown in spreading the word about Airfox!

Rumble Royale​

Some of our most popular community events have been our Discord Rumble Royale giveaways. We initiated these Rumble events to celebrate community milestones and to have a fun time with our members. During these events, we have given away over 20,000.00 USD worth of AFX tokens. Additionally, some very special community members have generously donated AFX to select Rumble Events. The fact that community members donated their AFX to give back further underscores the passion and kindness within our community.

Based Foxes NFT​

A community member took the initiative to create 3,000 unique NFTs for Airfox holders. They airdropped 1,800 NFTs to wallets holding AFX. This non-official community effort brought the AFX community together with laughter and enjoyment as everyone shared their favorite NFTs. People have used these NFTs as profile pictures and even created humorous memes, poems, and videos integrating AFX to introduce new people to the project.

The Shill Team​

Our Shill Team consists mostly of community members who post daily about Airfox on Twitter and other social media platforms. This dedicated group has been tirelessly promoting Airfox every single day by posting, reposting, and engaging with new users. They share their tweets and articles in the Telegram channel, and the community consistently shows its support. Many of these members have formed close friendships while working together to spread the word about Airfox.

What’s Next?​

Within the next few days, a new DAO proposal will be published to re-approve the marketing wallet budget for Q3 2024.

We have evolved a lot over this past year and as a result, we will be updating and re-publishing a new version of our project Whitepaper (The Flightpaper) complete with new and updated information on SkyBridge, Airfox Arcade, project addresses, and more in an effort to present everything as comprehensively as possible.

We have hired a new seasoned UX professional to help us rebuild our website and applications from the ground up, focusing on accessibility and ease of use for SkyBridge and Airfox Arcade. This is a part of a broader goal to unify our brand and messaging across the board. We are conducting several focus group style interviews with community members who have utilized the SkyBridge testnet or other third-party bridges. Soon, we will be hosting documentation for all things Airfox on our website. It’s Party Time!​

We are excited to announce that the public testnet for the Airfox SkyBridge now live! First off, the team wants to express our deep gratitude to those in the community who have been here daily supporting the team during development. Security and quality are paramount to us and even though this isn’t the final product, we wanted to provide the best user experience possible. We take great pride in the work we put into this project, as this is, and always will be, a long-term commitment for the Airfox team.

We would also like to remind everyone that this is the beta testnet. This is by no means the final product. The purpose of this testnet is to find any possible bugs or issues within SkyBridge’s ecosystem via our bug bounty in partnership with Hacken. Though it may seem arbitrary to some, this level of rigorous testing is what is necessary to have an appeal on an institutional level. Our goal is to be the go-to bridge for anyone seeking to bridge their assets to BASE, first from Ethereum and later, many other chains.

The Airfox team would also like to remind those who are going to try out the testnet for fun or break it to earn a bounty, that testnet speeds are much slower than mainnet due to the nature of the Sepolia network. Transactions on Sepolia may take several minutes to process. We can assure you that once SkyBridge is launched on the Base Network, the speeds will be faster than both the Ethereum and Sepolia networks.

Many things will change between now and the launch of mainnet. We will obviously ameliorate any bugs that are discovered, but beyond that, we expect to be fine-tuning during the process. To simplify things and to be inclusive of our users who are unfamiliar with development, we have created the UI you’ll be interacting with. That being said, we have hired an additional developer and are in the process of creating an entirely new website for Airfox as a whole, which will include a totally revamped UI for SkyBridge.

First, you need to add the Sepolia and Base Sepolia networks to your wallet:

Second, get Sepolia ETH from a faucet. We recommend using the Alchemy faucet: https://www.alchemy.com/faucets

Third, get testing! Use the beta website to test and explore SkyBridge! The UI is designed to help make using the application as simple as possible. If you need any help, our team is happy to assist!

Some considerations:​

• You can test with any token, however, we will airdrop testnet AFX to all current holders of AFX during the time of launch for your convenience.
• You may see an image depicting a ‘This transaction is likely to fail’ message. This is expected behavior on some tokens.

In order to support Optimism mintable tokens for bridging, we check that the address of the token you’re trying to bridge implements one of the interfaces we support. To do that, we pass the checks to OpenZeppelin’s ERC165Checker. This does up to two static calls on the token you provided, which may revert if the token doesn’t implement those interfaces. That will cause the full bridging transaction to erroneously show that the transaction succeeded but, there was a revert if your tokens don’t implement those interfaces.

• We recommend against testing with direct contract interaction unless you are a pro and seeking to participate in the bug bounty!
• The testnet will evolve during the course of its run. That means addresses may change, so be sure to follow us on social media to be up to date on any changes!
• Formal developer documentation is being prepared and will be available in the near future.

How to Report Issues​

While using the testnet, you may decide to report issues, suggestions, feedback, or any other comments regarding your experience! While the Bug Bounty is ongoing, we also strongly encourage any feedback during the testing period to make the mainnet release amazing.

The Bug Bounty as mentioned in our last medium, The Final Approach covered many of the details of such. But we wanted to reiterate how important this is for the testnet. This will allow coders to dig into the SkyBridge code and various features to try and break our system in order to locate any vulnerabilities. We encourage hackers and developers to break it as much as possible!

But wait, there’s more! With the Bug Bounty, there are rewards for finding any bugs or issues. The bugs that are found will be reported to our Hacken Bug Bounty Portal. Each bug will be reviewed by Hacken in partnership with the Airfox development team to ensure they’re all resolved.

Troubleshooting​

My withdrawal isn’t working: If you are withdrawing ETH or tokens from L2 to L1, remember that there are multiple transactions required!

For a Supersonic withdrawal, two transactions are required: one to initiate Supersonic on L2, and one to withdraw your funds from the liquidity pool on L1. For a standard withdrawal, three transactions are required: one to initiate the withdrawal on L2, one to prove the transaction on L1, and one to finalize the transaction on L1.

You will find your pending standard withdrawals in the history tab, and your pending Supersonic withdrawals on the main page the next time you go to withdraw the same asset. Be sure to double check if you are experiencing any incomplete withdrawals!

Checking your available Supersonic balance: you may want to check your available balance in the LiquidityPool for fast withdrawals. To do this, we suggest using Blockscout explorer. Connect your testnet wallet to Blockscout and query the ETH or ERC-20 token address you want to view your balance for. This balance represents tokens you initiated Supersonic withdrawals for, but never finalized.

Be Safe​

This is a friendly reminder concerning the testnet AFX tokens that will be airdropped to all AFX holders upon launch: This will ONLY be on the Sepolia Network. You will not receive any airdrop from the AFX team on any other network other than the Sepolia testnet. Assume that any other airdrop you may receive on any other network is a scam. If you do see any post or scam group posting of an airdrop, please report this to the team immediately. In that event, we will issue a safety post to the community through our official channels. Remember, if you are unsure about something, reach out to a team member to verify before touching any tokens that are airdropped to you. The safety of our community is our number one priority. SkyBridge Testnet Update​

It has been a long time since we last spoke! Firstly, we would like to apologize for the delays in preparing Airfox SkyBridge for public testing. While we have not published a release date and intend to launch the testnet as a surprise, we would love to provide some updates, as well as to thank you all for your patience as we work to make SkyBridge the best it can be!

Our team has been making excellent progress in preparing for public testing. Over the past few weeks, our development team has made several enhancements to how SkyBridge operates to maximize the quality of the user experience. We know dearly that our Aviators are hyped for a release date, and while we are not sharing an exact date today, we can say that the SkyBridge testnet will become available for public testing any day now. Our developers are ready to close out the last necessary items for immediate release.

The testnet will feature a demo of the initial UI of SkyBridge and give testers the ability to try out the application and provide feedback for our team to resolve. Please note that the UI is not final, and we will be completing an entire redesign of all our websites within the near future.

Advanced users will be able to directly interact with the smart contracts on Sepolia Etherscan and Sepolia Basescan to try advanced transactions and attempt to seek out bugs or issues that need to be addressed before mainnet release. Features and detailed documentation will be rolling out during the testnet period, so expect frequent updates to the smart contract and documentation wiki as enhancements and adjustments are made from community feedback.

Testnet AFX tokens will be airdropped to all current AFX holders when the testnet goes public. Testnet AFX has zero cash value.

Following the testnet phase, SkyBridge mainnet will be deployed and AFX will become available for trading on Base. Remember, there are no token migrations. We will never ask you to migrate your tokens, connect to any verification app, execute any transactions, or ask for your secret recovery phrase. AFX will remain available on the Ethereum mainnet perpetually, as well as be available for trading on Base upon public mainnet launch. AFX shares the same supply across all supported chains: no new AFX tokens will ever be created.

During our testnet, our team will update our project Whitepaper to include all new SkyBridge material.

SkyBridge Protocol Changes​

As we’ve been testing and experimenting with SkyBridge on the Sepolia testnet, we have decided to make a few changes to how the protocol works for the end user!

• There is now no protocol or liquidity fee for standard (slow) withdrawals!
• Proxy contracts will be used to make the bridge upgradeable over time without impacting token support.
• Withdrawals have been modified to require multiple signatures. This is necessary for both standard and Supersonic withdrawals.
• For enhanced security, Supersonic support for SkyBridge-deployed tokens is now toggled manually. This may change in the future.

Hacken Audit Completion​

As you may have already heard, earlier this month we received our SkyBridge Audit results from Hacken. We are proud to announce that we received a perfect 10/10 security score! Hacken identified a total of 3 findings within our SkyBridge Contract. All 3 of the findings identified have been resolved and approved by Hacken. SkyBridge Bug Bounty​

Airfox SkyBridge bug bounty, hosted by HackenProof.

The SkyBridge Bug Bounty program partnered with Hacken will begin as soon as we open the SkyBridge testnet to the public. This Bug Bounty will run indefinitely which will allow hackers to to continuously look for any bugs even after mainnet. Prizes will be paid out in stablecoins to avoid AFX price impact. Prizes will range from starting at $500 and topping out at $15,000 based on the severity of the findings. With each bug found within the code, a prize will be awarded depending on its severity.

This is a great opportunity for those in the community with coding skills to stress test our system as much as possible. This will allow us to make any final touches or fixes before the launch of SkyBridge Mainnet. When identifying any code errors or bugs, it’ll be reported through Hacken’s Bug Bounty Portal for review.

Summer Airfox Arcade Game Jam​

With the upcoming launch of SkyBridge mainnet, we will be edging closer to the testnet of Airfox Arcade. The Airfox Team is currently preparing for our next Game Jam Event to coincide with the Airfox Arcade Testnet. We will invite various styles of game developers to create custom games or already established games to the Game Jam event. These game developers will have a chance to win a monetary prize for their game submitted based on the voting from the community.

There will be two prize pools, a Grand Prize and a Minor Prize.

Grand Prize​

This requires the game developers to launch their game on Airfox Arcade testnet. This will allow community members to test out the game developer game as well test out the functionality of Airfox Arcade. Documentation will be provided when the time of the testnet is launched for the Arcade. This requirement will make it easier for developers to deploy their game when the mainnet of Airfox Arcade is deployed. Game Developers who launch on mainnet will receive 45% per playthrough. There will also be an extra 5% bonus for game developers if they launch their game within the first 90 days of Airfox Arcade launch.

Minor Prize​

This will have no special requirement to participate in the Game Jam Event. If you are a game developer, you’ll just submit your game creation on Itch.io. With this option, we will still encourage game developers to enter the Grand Prize option for the higher value prize, in addition to the benefit of generating 45–50% per playthrough upon the launch of mainnet.

The prize amounts are still to be determined.

Game Jam Timeframe​

The Game Jam event will run for several weeks while we have Airfox Arcade being tested on testnet. The AFX team thinks this will be an appropriate amount of time for both game developers and community members to test out the functions and become familiar with the platform before mainnet.

Once the testnet is concluded, this does not indicate mainnet will launch immediately afterward.

Voting​

Voting for the Airfox Arcade Game Jam Event will be done through our DAO on snapshot.org/aviator-dao.eth. This will encourage AFX Community members to be actively involved in what they want to see on our Airfox Arcade platform.
